I am a highly experienced children’s writer, having written over 200 children’s books, published in over twenty languages, from Early Readers through to teenage fiction. I specialise in series fiction and I work as a ghostwriter as well as writing under my own name. I have had books published by many of the major publishing houses in the UK including Puffin, Harper Collins, Orchard, Orion, Random House and Egmont. I love to work with new writers and I offer the following editorial services:
Initial Review
I will look at your synopsis and first chapter for free and let you know whether your work is at a stage where it will benefit from editorial input.
General Report
A general overview of either a complete manuscript or of a synopsis and sample chapters that will provide an assessment of the strengths and weaknesses of the manuscript/idea. Ideal if you want to know if an idea has potential or how much work a manuscript might need to reach a point where it can be submitted to agent/publisher.
Cost: £120
In Depth Report
A detailed critique of your manuscript which will point out any structural issues or other problem areas along with suggestions of how to solve the issues. As well as providing an detailed report that will list all suggested changes, I will make notes in the margin of the manuscript to highlight specific points either electronically or on a hard copy and will discuss any comments with you by e-mail/phone. Ideal when you have written a first draft and want feedback from an experienced set of eyes.

Line by Line Edit
A line-by-line, detailed electronic mark up of your manuscript. Ideal when a manuscript has already had a structural edit and is at the second draft stage and in need of a final edit before copy-editing/proof-reading. I will discuss any comments with you by e-mail/phone.

Copy-editing and proofreading can also be arranged with a highly experienced copy editor. Prices on request and dependent upon length of manuscript.
If, after revisions based on the first report, you would like a second report there is a 20% discount on the above prices.
